About the role

The Data & Insights Analyst role is a business critical function giving you responsibility for the delivery of advanced analytics, reporting and BI applications to support decision making processes for all key users.

In addition, you will be required to build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate with the CEO and Product Manager at Flippa. 

In particular, you will - 

  • Work closely with the CEO to uncover and build data sets to inform business and commercial strategy.
  • Work closely with our product team to develop a deep understanding of our product
  • Provide use case driven BI tool training on various Data Products available within Flippa
  • Perform exploratory analysis, uncovering useful insights about how our product is being used
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for reports and data in an accurate, timely and professional manner
  • Operationalise and democratise reports, making them available and always up-to-date using our business intelligence and data analytics systems/products
  • Identify data gaps in our instrumentation and data collection, and work with our engineers to fill them

Skills and experience

To be successful, you must have the following skills:

  • An analytical mind and the ability to think critically
  • An exceptional understanding of SQL
  • Experience with modern business intelligence tools and marketing analytics software, e.g. ChartIO
  • Knowledge and experience with digital analytics tool such as Google Analytics or Mixpanel
  • Strong education background with degrees in Business Administration, Engineering or Information Systems (preferred)
  • Strong experience in ETL tools, data warehouse design, data modelling and visualization
  • Familiar and comfortable with large volumes of data and big data technology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to work to deadlines and learn quickly (due to the steep learning curve involved) are essential
  • A self-motivated, driven, flexible, quick learning, high achieving, "can do" mentality
  • An ability to work well independently and as part of a team
